Career Guidance Counselling Research Group

The research on career guidance and counselling has a long-standing history.  Based on the previous research findings, it is important to find contemporary answers in the field. In today's rapidly changing world, organisations want to find and retain the most appropriate workforce for the positions. While job seekers and employees are also looking for ways to find the most adequate career for themselves.

The aim of this research group is to investigate current international trends in career counselling and apply them in the national context. Further, we aim to to adopt new methods of counselling that are applied in multiple age groups. In the scope of our research,, we also want to develop self-assessment competency measurement tools for experts in counselling.

Our research group aims to reflect on the following new challenges:

  • The psychological aspects of labour market uncertainty (coping, stress, life skills, resilience…etc.)
  • Digital tools (skype, apps, gamification…etc.) in career counselling
  • Competence boundaries between emerging and current supportive professions in the field of human services (coach, counsellor, psychologist, management counsellor, organisational psychologist, etc.)and the ways of cooperation
