End-of-System [Rendszerbontó] Concert

How do today's young people perceive political participation, and what role do actors in popular culture play in this? Led by András Déri, lecturer and researcher at the Institute of Research on Adult Education and Knowledge Management (ELTE Faculty of Education and Psychology), a research report has mapped the motivations and attitudes of 18–29-year-old attendees at the End-of-System [Rendszerbontó] Concert on 10 April 2026. The data reveal that among the young people present, conscious political conviction was intertwined with the sense of collective belonging that a shared musical experience provides. Meanwhile, the political chanting increasingly normalised at concerts is interpreted by the majority as both a definitive message to those in power and an outlet for frustration.
